Our attitude to others

This isn’t the post I planned to write and publish today but having observed people and their behaviours over the last couple of days I decided to write this one instead.

Usually people are courteous to each other, on most levels. Occasionally I see people being off hand or rude to others, but I tend to think that they are idiots and the thought leaves my head. Continue reading

Social Media – Friend or Foe

Normally I am a fairly active user of social media. I use Twitter and Instagram a lot, I write posts on LinkedIn, I dip in and out of using Facebook. But when I feel a bit low, or when I get a little ‘wound up’ by it I step back.

I don’t delete my accounts or remove the apps from my phone, I just open the apps less and post less. Continue reading

My mental health and me – an awkward relationship

I wrote a post last week on my Mental Health and in it I wrote this ‘I have Mental Health and my Mental Health is similar to my Physical Health. Reach and Impact

How often do we ever give any thought to our reach and impact?
As a person, friend, family member or colleague?

For me I am usually too busy being me, helping out, guiding, coaching, mentoring and just doing what I can to really spare too much brainpower on wondering how wide is my reach and what is my impact.

Plan versus Reality

I am a great believer in fate, the concept that things happen for a reason. Often I will tell people that there is always a reason, sometimes it just takes us a while to understand it.

Also I am always telling people that strength often means being able to adapt and continue, that those that we think of as strong are in fact just good at adapting and changing their plans to match their changed situation. Continue reading
